For the past few weeks, we have discussed the benefits of community for entrepreneurs, and the importance of setting goals and being accountable for our businesses. When you add resources to the mix, the growth of your business can be immeasurable. More importantly, when you are able to find community, resources, and accountability all in one location, you are sure to have the positive support you need.
In the post, Why Entrepreneurs Need Community, we talked about the ways communities provide emotional support that we may not find at home or with our friends. That is a resource folks! How many times have you wanted to discuss your latest idea or a significant business problem with someone…ANYONE…in your family, but couldn’t. In a community, we all experience similar successes and challenges. Therefore finding encouragement is much easier to do.
We also use a lot of the same tools and follow the same influencers. We most definitely have the same dream; the dream of owning and operating a successful business or businesses.
“A community provides a road-map that bypasses many of the common pitfalls each of us will face”! You guessed it…another example of how community is a resource. One of the things I have learned over the years, is that resources are not necessarily tangible items.
Resources are anything that can be used to help further a cause, a project, or a business. Good advice…a resource! Tips and lessons learned…resources! Being able to ask questions in an open forum, receive suggestions, and specific tools of the trade… all resources!
