There are more entrepreneurs bursting onto the scene than ever before. This is a testament to the number of opportunities out there, the courage of millennials and the mindset people are sharing. However, it’s important to remember that not all entrepreneurs are successful. In fact, it takes an average of three business attempts before an entrepreneur finds success. The reason for this is they get to learn from their mistakes. They get to learn what is valuable, what makes them effective, and just how important it is for them to invest in themselves constantly. Essentially, in order to become a better entrepreneur and successfully grow a business, it’s imperative you dedicate a dollop of time and pinch of energy to improve your daily habits. Here are 4 habits of successful entrepreneurs you can adopt into your own style.
They Eat A Healthy Breakfast
It doesn’t matter how early your first client meeting may be, you need to make time for a healthy breakfast. It’s impossible to be at your best if your body needs fuel. So, instead of just grabbing a coffee from Costa in a rush, enjoy a smoothie, even if you take that on the go with you.
Have A Plan of Attack
If you’ve ever been to a gym without a plan, then you’ll know how ineffective that session was as you wandered aimlessly from machine to machine. The same goes for entrepreneurship. First thing in the morning, look at your planner and prioritize what’s on your schedule. As a little piece of advice, prioritize with your own abilities in mind. If you work best during a specific time of the day, block out those hours for your most important work.
Surround Yourself With Likeminded People
If you want to stay on top of the game, you need to surround yourself with like-minded, positive, hard-working and innovative people so that you’re not missing out on anything. That’s not always easy to do in person unless you can organize a weekly supper club with other entrepreneurs. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Sign up to the right blogs, read interviews with other leaders – whether that be Jeff Bezos or Danny DeMichele – set aside ten minutes a day to watch (or listen to) Ted Talks, and anything else that will help you invest in your own growth.
Emails Can Wait
We seem to have gotten into a habit where we check our emails the moment we open our eyes in the morning. Try to avoid doing this. Instead, get one of your more critical to-do list tasks out of the way first. The reason being, emails serve as a distraction and eat into your day more than you may realize. The same goes for those times when a project is pressing – try not to check your emails more than a few times a day.
