Fashion Crimes Committed In The Workplace

Fashion Crimes Committed In The Workplace

Dressing appropriately for work is pivotal; however, a lot of people are still missing the mark. Men around the country are still teaming their dress shoes with white socks, whilst women are guilty of showing too much flesh around the workplace. It’s not always the individual’s fault either. Many businesses around the UK get enticed into buying cheap workwear and their employees end up victims of embarrassing rips and holes in their clothing. Read on to discover the workwear fashion faux pas you need to avoid.

Too Much Cleavage

Everyone knows that too much cleavage in the working place is a big no. Yet, so many women still make this rookie mistake. Not only is it distracting but it is highly inappropriate as well. You also need to consider the fact that you are doing yourself an injustice. At the end of the day you don’t want to be judged on what you are wearing, you want people to value you because of your competence in the workplace.

Clothes That Don’t Fit

Do your shirt sleeves feel too tight? Are you tripping over your trouser legs? If so, this means that your clothes don’t fit properly, and it also means that you are going to be feeling uncomfortable too. Choose quality brands, like the Pedder Group – don’t go for cheap clothing. And when someone feels uncomfortable it shows. You won’t be able to disguise those arm sleeves when they are bursting at the seams.

Bad Quality Material

Many businesses are guilty of this. When ordering workwear for their employees they look for the cheapest option available. This may be great for keeping the costs down, but it can provide several embarrassing moments too. Your employees will be left red-faced when the poor quality material rips. Not only this but if you go for a cheap fabric then your employees don’t look as professional. This can reflect badly on your brand and this is a pivotal point worth keeping in mind.

Short Skirts

Skirts can look extremely classy and sophisticated when worn as office wear. The only problem comes when women wear skirts that are too short for the workplace. Sometimes this is done unintentionally. People dress for work, they take a look in their mirror and they look good and more importantly appropriate. However, when you sit down your skirt rides up. What may have been appropriate standing up may not be when you are sitting down.

White Socks

Calling all men, please try and match your socks to the color of your suit trousers. It is very unlikely that you are going to be wearing white trousers to work, so why do you feel the need to wear white socks? White socks and dress shoes do not go; it is as simple as that.

Not Being Able To Walk

If your shoes are too high, don’t wear them. Nobody is going to notice the fabulous shoes on your feet, they are going to be captivated by the fact that you are walking like a penguin. Make sure your shoes look smart and that they are comfortable too.
