How To Make Your Business Gold Star Green For 2020

Eco-friendly businesses are the trend for 2019-2020. In fact, with all of the political and social pressures, any company not in compliance is at risk. Both with PR and losing its customer’s support. With that end, doing everything you can to make your business as green as possible is essential.

Eliminate plastic packaging

One way to make your business more green is to eliminate plastic in packaging. This is a massive issue right now. The public is realizing that every single piece of plastic that was ever made is still in existence! Sadly, all this waste plastic has to go somewhere. Typically, it finds its way into the planet’s ecosystems. Either by leaching molecules out through the soil, or even ending up in the oceans.

To that end, swapping from plastic vacuum wrap, blister packs, and even plastic carrier bags can make a massive difference to the health of the planet. It is also something that can be a real selling point that you should emphasize to your customers as well. In fact, any business not doing their best to cut plastic use will be putting themselves in a dangerous position indeed.

10 Must Have Resources to Grow Your Business

Create ecosystems

Next, one of the most significant criticisms leveled against business is that they use up land that would otherwise be home to wildlife and vital ecosystems. Happily, there are some strategies you can use to offset this kind of problem.

One is to build your company premises with more of an emphasis on creating a sustainable ecosystem for the local flora and fauna. Something that means building a campus-style development with plenty of trees and wild spaces.

Alternatively, there are things you do even if such a premise is not viable at this time. Installing a roof garden complete with grass and flowers like the ones that D&D Roofing and Sheet Metal can put in, being one of them. This being a feature that can not only improve the look of your premises, but also create a valuable space for local birds, and insects as well.

Use sustainable energy

Lastly, if you want your business to be truly green, then using sustainable energy is something that definitely has to be prioritized. In fact, many energy providers are starting to make the switch to wind and hydroelectric power.

Although it may be quite viable for your business to generate its own power. Either via a windmill, solar panels, or even a geothermal plant, if you are in the right location.

Remember too, that companies are converting waste products that would otherwise have been disposed of in landfills to generate energy as well. In fact, this really is a double saving because they usually have to pay to get such things taken away, but are instead reusing them in their business. It doesn’t get any greener (or cost-effective) than that!
