Like many entrepreneurs, Shawna Beckmann has a lot on her plate. In addition to running a successful business, she is the mother of 5 children all under the age of 8. In her Savvy Entrepreneur Spotlight, she shares her tips on connecting with clients, and how she manages her sales business Hey Hey Shawna May.

Finding Your Passion

Shawna Beckmann is a sales coach who helps creatives book out their services so they can focus on caring for their clients. She is an expert at taking awkward conversations and turning them into solid deals with ease. As a former grief counselor, Shawna had experience in helping families deal with the loss of loved ones. She later used this talent to tap into the sales field, and now helps her clients turn prospects into sales.

Before launching Hey Hey Shawna May, Shawna owned a cleaning business with a small staff. After moving back to her home state with her family, she realized how difficult it was to run this type of business remotely. Shawna sold her cleaning business and launched her sales business. She now helps countless clients exceed their sales expectations, outsell courses, and book services months out in advance.

The Conversation

For many people, the sales call can be difficult to make, especially for women. “Sales is often the last thing women think about in their business”, says Shawna. And she’s absolutely correct. However, Shawna is a firm believer that women are great salespeople. “Women are great at finding the need and filling it”, she remarked. We do it every day for our families and in our lives.

Shawna is really comfortable with difficult calls. After hiring a business coach, she discovered that she had a talent for sales. In her do for me sales business, Shawna manages all of the sales calls for her clients.

Connecting With Clients

While she enjoys managing sales for her clients, Shawna commented that she really enjoys making relationships and connections. “Sales isn’t something you do to people, it’s something you do with them”, says Shawna. And this is the philosophy that she has carried throughout her career in sales.

One of her biggest successes is honing her backdoor approach to finding clients. “The online space is so saturated”, she commented. Finding a workaround to reach your target audience and you’ll see greater success!
