The Entrepreneur’s Guide To Keeping Your Office Organized

The Entrepreneur's Guide To Keeping Your Office Organized

Making the switch from working at home to renting office space for your business is a huge step. However, keeping your office organized can be a challenge. Here are some simple tips and tricks you can do to stay organized and make it more manageable for everyone.

Create a Cleaning Rota

When you are working in a office space that has a kitchen, there is bound to be a mess with people preparing meals during the day. To combat this, make sure that everything is fair in the office you can make a cleaning rota. Each week, designate an employee to be responsible for certain cleaning tasks in the office. For example, one person could be responsible for vacuuming while another person has to bleach the kitchen. Having everyone on the rota to complete this job is a great way to discourage them from making a mess in the future.

Hire a Cleaner

If you don’t have the time to give to your employees to clean the office, you can instead hire a professional company (for example Miry’s Cleaning). These companies can usually come in once or twice a week and clean the office to make sure it is hygenic all year long. It won’t cost too much money and you get a great service out of it.

Clean Out the Store Cupboard

Every single office has a cupboard. A cupboard which is full to the brim with old samples of products, boxes of flyers and business card and paperwork. Going into his cupboard makes you feel like you will come out of the other side into Narnia. It can make life very difficult in the office for productivity. Take a Friday afternoon to get the whole office together and clean out the cupboard. While it make take some time, you will be able to organize it into better use.

Invest in Colored Folders

If in doubt, buy some colorful stationery. When it comes to working on multiple projects at the same time, things can get confusing pretty easily. When you have a pile of paper on your desk belonging to 5 different projects it can be time consuming to find what you need. Buying colored folders for each project can organize all of your data in one place and improve productivity.

Make Time Each Day to Tidy Up

If you want to stay on top of the office and make sure you don’t lose your way, always dedicate time to clean. It will only take about 10 minutes of your day, but it can save a lot of time later on.
