5 Things To Consider When Planning A Networking Event

How to Identify and Fix Problems Within Your Business FEATURED

Networking events are hugely beneficial for brand awareness and growth. Many new businesses decide on planning a networking event of their own as opposed to attending a larger event. By hosting your own event, it ensures that your business will stand out, and not be lost in the crowd. Here are some things to consider:

Finding The Right Location

Finding the right location for your networking event is key. It needs to be big enough to house the expected numbers and easily accessible. Furthermore, it needs to be within reach of parking or public transport options. A bar could be a good option because you’ll have seating and the use of a kitchen. You should also consider using a hotel function room or a hall, depending on the scale and style of your event.

Catering Needs

Make people feel comfortable and sociable by offering either a sit-down dinner or a buffet. Whether you put on a buffet and supply a mini keg of drinks or coffee, or whether you choose to put on something more lavish like champagne and canapes, decide on what is best for you and make sure you keep the attendees comfortable and enjoying themselves.

Branding And Labeling

Display your brand image throughout the event space. Afterall, this is the point of you hosting the networking event in the first place. Having the right marketing literature, promotional items, and signs displayed is essential. Name tags with your business logo for the attendees could also be a good touch. This avoids any awkward introductions and allows people to mix and mingle freely.

Advertising

Be sure to advertise your networking event online through your website and social media channels. You could also directly contact people you think might be interested and put signs up locally to involve the community.  If the cost is within your budget, consider advertising on different radio stations for additional reach.

Promote Via Social Media

Finally, while the event is taking place, encourage people to share their experiences via social media. You could create a hashtag so that people can keep track of the event, or encourage them to tag you in posts of pictures or video content. Create a space at the event specifically for photos, and make your brand logo can be seen from every angle.
