The Entrepreneur’s Guide To Delivering Products

The Entrepreneur's Guide To Delivering Products

Delivering products to your customers is a key aspect of your business. Customers expect attention to detail, fast deliveries, and friendly customer service. Having a smooth and consistent plan to deliver products to your consumers increases your reputation. Below are a few ideas you may want to implement into your business:

Print To Save

When an order comes through to your business, you will be given the basic details of the customer. This will include, their name, address, order number, the date the order was made and chosen delivery date. You will also learn their choice of shipping method. When preparing your shipments, use an order label printer to makes things easier. Don’t use your own templates on standard paper and simply stick them to the delivery box. This is something that many businesses do in the beginning but it only makes them look amateurish. The label printer will be a lot faster and it will be using data from your customer database to speed things up.

Sealing The Package

Sealing the product is going to protect it from the elements, worker damage, and keep the product safe until arrival. Using recycled cardboard boxes could save you a lot of money compared to new boxes. You could end up saving more money than the cost of sizing the standard boxes and buying them in bulk also. The weight of the box is also something you can save on as buying used scales and weighing equipment will keep the cost of delivery down. Delivery companies charge by the pound, ounce, and kilogram depending on the service you’re using.

Where You Can

As an entrepreneur, you should be willing to go the extra mile. In the case of delivering products, you should be willing to make deliveries yourself in your own car if you can at times. This is of course only viable for within your city as all other deliveries outside will need to be done using a delivery company.

Getting the products to your customers is the start of your relationship. Saving where you can allow your deliveries to become more efficient.
